TenHoor, Inc. is a legal search firm that specializes in helping partners search for and select better opportunities within the Greater Washington, D.C. metro area. Stuart TenHoor, Esq., president, has 17 years of legal search experience helping partners, both individually and as a group, identify and secure employment that better suits their evolving professional goals. While most placements Stuart makes have been in law firms, he also works with corporations seeking qualified additions to their in-house legal staff. Further, he has conducted retained searches for both law firms and corporations in several different practice areas. Many of his placements have been of lawyers with specialties in biotechnology & FDA; employment/labor; government contracts/construction law; health care; and general litigation. He has, however, searched on behalf of lawyers in nearly every active legal practice area.
Stuart began his legal search career in 1988 after working as a Professional Staff Member on the U.S. Senate Labor and Human Resources Committee, an associate at Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson & Hand in Washington, D.C. and as an Assistant City Attorney in Alexandria, Virginia. He has written extensively about placement, job finding and career issues in such publications as the National Law Journal and the Virginia Bar Journal. He has lectured on these same topics to the Federal Bar Association, the Nurse Attorney’s Association and the Washington, D.C. Women’s Bar Association, among others. He has been quoted repeatedly in the Legal Times of Washington and in other media publications.
Stuart is a 1976 graduate of Alma College, Alma, Michigan (cum laude) and a 1979 graduate of Marshall-Wythe School of Law, Williamsburg, Virginia. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and has been a member of the Greater Washington Board of Trade (BOT). In 2003 the BOT named him Ambassador of the Year for his new member recruitment achievements and also awarded him its power player of the month accolade. TenHoor, Inc. adheres to the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Legal Search Consultants.
